World's sympathy for Wes Leonard

FENNVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - The story of Wes Leonard's tragic and sudden death is receiving international attention.

Leonard scored the winning basket in overtime to give his basketball team a perfect record on the season.

A Facebook page was set up in honor of Leonard, and added members all night long at a very fast pace. In just six hours, the page had added more than 1,000 new members.

People from as far away as Australia and Paris have posted comments of sympathy and condolences.

Also, people from all across the United States are sending messages to the family, friends and grieving community.

As of 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the page had more than 20,000 members.

Leonard's story has been told on The Today Show, CNN, Inside Edition, and ESPN and other programs.

The story has also been featured on numerous websites across the country.
