COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) - The defense is now calling witnesses in the murder retrial of Thomas Foley, the witnesses that prompted a judge to order a new trial after Foley was convicted of killing his wife.
In November 2009, a jury convicted Foley of murdering his wife in their Girard Township home seven months previously.
After his conviction, though, new witnesses came forward telling police they had seen a car parked near the couple's home on the day DeeDee was killed.
A series of motions followed, and Foley was granted a new trial to present this evidence not heard in open court before.
The trial may wrap up this week.
24 Hour News 8 will continue to follow this case.
