HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Van Buren County authorities are still looking for a suspect who led deputies on a chase and nearly struck a bystander.
It happened around 1 p.m. Sunday in the area of 61st Avenue and 62nd Street in Hartford Township, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.
A white male in his late 20s or early 30s, believe to be bald, refused to pull over for deputies after committing a traffic violation.
The man, who was driving a dark green Honda Civic, went off-road through the backyards of several 61st Avenue residences, nearly striking one person who was outside stacking wood.
The man drove his car back onto eastbound 61st Avenue and fled deputies at a high rate of speed, running several stops signs before authorities called off the chase.
