BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Investigators in Van Buren County need your help catching the man who abandoned numerous animals.

They're looking for 26-year-old Kenneth Ventresca from Bangor Township. He is accused of skipping town and leaving chickens, guinea hens, kittens, cats and a horse without food or water.

Neighbors helped sheriff's deputies catch and care for those animals.

The landlord told police Ventresca came to his home earlier last week and dropped off the house keys, stating he was leaving the state, possibly to South Carolina. But authorities say he may still be in West Michigan.

The sheriff’s office has obtained a felony warrant for Ventresca in relation to this investigation. Deputies are also now seeking additional charges of animal abandonment.

Ventresca is also accused of stealing several cows.

Anyone with information about Ventresca's whereabouts is asked to call the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office at 269.657.3101, Silent Observer at 269.343.2100, or Crime Stoppers at 800.342.7867.
