SODUS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A Berrien County man was killed Thursday evening when an ATV rolled over on top of him.
The victim was 69-year-old Elmer Froehlich, a long-time resident and farmer in the area, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities were called to the scene in the 3500 block of Dutch Lane in Sodus Township to a report of an all-terrain vehicle rolled over with the driver still pinned under it.
The man who called 911 was Elmer Froehlich's brother, who had come to help him on the farm. The brother found Froehlich under the ATV in the driveway of his home.
Elmer Froehlich was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family said that Froehlich had gone hunting Thursday and must have been returning to his home Thursday evening when the rollover happened.
The incident remains under investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled.
