GIRARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two Coldwater residents died Sunday after the motorcycle they were riding on was struck by a car.
Chelsea Clevenger, 18, was driving and turned into the path of the motorcycle near the intersection of Dayburg and Marshall Road, according to witness reports.
Clevenger, of Litchfield, didn't appear to have seen the motorcycle, driven by Charles Skutt, 45. His passenger was 45-year-old Janean Skutt.
Branch County deputies, along with officials from several other departments, responded around 5 p.m. and found the Skutts critically injured. They were treated by paramedics but died on scene.
Alcohol doesn't appear to have played a role, but "cell phone use may be a factor," a news release states.
