WARREN, Mich. (AP) - State police say a trooper and a drunken driving suspect were injured when a minivan struck the officer's patrol car on Interstate 696 in suburban Detroit.

WWJ-AM reports that Lt. Mike Shaw says the crash happened about 8 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound I-696 in Warren.

Shaw says emergency crews took the trooper to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The drunken driving suspect also was injured, but the extent of the injuries weren't immediately known.
