ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) - A man the U.S. government once described as a Detroit-area Mafia captain says he believes he knows where Jimmy Hoffa's body was buried.

Tony Zerilli tells WDIV-TV that the plan was to bury the ex-Teamsters boss in Oakland County, 30 miles from a Detroit-area restaurant where Hoffa disappeared in 1975. Zerilli talked to a WDIV reporter while they sat in a vehicle at the field in Rochester.

Zerilli was in prison when Hoffa disappeared. The ailing 85-year-old says there was a plan to take Hoffa's body to a hunting lodge in northern Michigan but it never occurred.

Zerilli says Hoffa was a "gentleman" who "didn't deserve what happened." His record includes a 2002 conviction for conspiracy and extortion.

The FBI declined to comment Monday.
