SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Shelby Township police say a landscaper mowing a steep hill was killed after his riding lawnmower tipped over, tumbled into a creek and trapped him underwater.
Police say the 33-year-old Detroit man was on a riding mower Wednesday afternoon at the Pebble Creek apartment complex in the suburb north of Detroit. They say wet conditions may have contributed to the accident.
Police tell WDIV-TV and WWJ-AM that passers-by spotted the man and notified authorities.
He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
An investigation is ongoing.
