DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit man has pleaded guilty to the shooting death of a 69-year-old woman, slain when a slug from his gun burst through the wall of her home.
Prosecutor's say 65-year-old Edward Bell entered a plea Thursday to discharge of a firearm at a building. He had been charged with manslaughter.
Sentencing is scheduled Sept. 24 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
Geraldine Jackson was killed May 12 as a shot fired by Bell at a suspected carjacker went astray.
Police say Bell was shooting at 19-year-old Antwan Hall after the older man was robbed at a nearby house and had his sport utility vehicle stolen.
Hall faces an Aug. 9 competency hearing.
