ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a drunken boater crashed into another recreational boat on Lake St. Clair, injuring a couple and killing their dog.
The U.S. Coast Guard says a crew from St. Clair Shores recued two people from the water about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The crash involved a 21-foot vessel with four people aboard and an anchored 19-foot recreational vessel with two people aboard.
It says the two people aboard the anchored boat were taken to Mount Clemens Regional Hospital. There was no word Sunday on their conditions.
The Detroit News reports the injured people were a couple from Roseville.
The Detroit Free Press says 34-year-old Kevin Bushon of Macomb County's Shelby Township was operating the other boat. He's charged with drunken boating causing serious injury.
No one answered Bushon's phone Sunday.
