DETROIT (AP) - Kwame Kilpatrick has sued a lawyer over the release of sexually explicit text messages between Detroit's ex-mayor and his then-top aide.
Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty served jail sentences for lying in court about their affair.
In March, the married ex-mayor sued Jackson, Miss.-based SkyTel Inc., saying it violated his rights with release of records from his city-issued pager.
Kilpatrick lawyer C.K. Hoffler told the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News Monday Kilpatrick has added Michael Stefani as a defendant.
Stefani represented police officers who successfully sued the city, saying they were fired for investigating the mayor's office.
Messages seeking comment were left for Stefani after business hours Monday.
