HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman was stabbed while trying to break up a physical altercation between her husband and another man armed with a knife.
The suspect -- 42-year-old Daniel Liceaga from Holland -- was taken into custody and arraigned on one count of felonious assault. His bond was set at $25,000.
Police said he apparently had a disagreement with the victim's husband inside Sawbucks bar in Holland early Sunday morning. Bar staff removed Liceaga, and the disagreement escalated into the parking lot, police said.
That is when Liceaga pulled out a small knife. The victim tried to assist her husband, and during the physical confrontation was stabbed by the suspect, police said.
Liceaga then walked away from the scene, 478 E. 16th St., but witnesses pointed him out to Holland Department of Public Safety officers when they arrived at 12:45 a.m.
The victim -- a 32-year-old Jenison woman -- was treated and released at Zeeland Community Hospital for a laceration on a forearm.
