2 separate break-ins involving teens

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Two teenagers are accused of breaking into a business and two others are accused of breaking into a residence, both in Holland, police said.

Holland Department of Public Safety officers responded to a crime in progress at Nirvana, 157 W. 29th St.

When they arrived about 11:46 p.m. Tuesday they saw a broken front window to the business.

A witness told police two males were seen running from the business just prior to the officers' arrival.

Officers searched and arrested one of the suspects near 30th Street and Pine Avenue.

Police then were able to determine the identity of the second suspect who was arrested at a residence in the 200 block of West 17th Street.

The suspects in this incident are a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy. The Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office will handle the pending charges in the probate court.

Then about 8:42 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a similar crime in progress at a residence in the 200 block of W. 15th St.

A neighbor called 911 after seeing two juvenile males enter the home through a window.

Officers spotted the suspects near 14th Street and Maple Avenue and took them into custody.

One of the 15-year-old males was taken to the Ottawa County Youth home and the other 15-year-old was processed and released to his parents.  

Criminal charges in this case will also be handled by the Ottawa County Prosecutor's Office in probate court.
