Train clearing snow and ice derails

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - An inspection train used to clear snow and ice from railroad tracks went off the rails Saturday afternoon.

Around 12:45 p.m., the train was clearing snow and ice on the tracks between Marne and Coopersville.

The train went off the rails after hitting a patch of ice and snow around 8th Ave and Comstock Street.

Crews spent hours to get the train back on the tracks. The accident caused traffic to be rerouted.

No one was hurt in the accident.
