Sex parolee held in Ottawa Co assault

TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man on parole for a sex crime has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting a neighbor and holding her against her will.

Anthony Thompson is an acquaintance of the woman, who called police after she said she was held against her will for more than an hour at a home in the 1000 block of Linden Drive in Tallmadge Township on Monday.

When deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department arrived, they found the man -- armed with a knife -- at the scene. He was arrested without incident. The 29-year-old woman was not injured by the knife.

Thomson, 44, has since been arraigned on three felonies -- first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and being a habitual offender (second offense). His bond was set at $100,000.

He was on parole from a 2005 charge in Kent County of criminal sexual conduct with a weapon. He was released on March 12 and was being held on a parole violation charge at the Ottawa County Jail prior to the most recent arraignment.
