CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KDSK/WOOD) - The Grand Valley State University hockey team's bus caught fire while the Lakers were in Missouri for the ACHA Division II Tournament.
The Lakers were playing inside Hardee's IcePlex in Chesterfield, Mo. March 15 their first game when their bus caught fire in the parking lot around 3 p.m. local time, according to St. Louis NBC affiliate KSDK.
"When I came out, it was engulfed in flames and the bus driver was trying to get into the bus," coach Mike Forbes told KSDK. "There was a moderate explosion in the back, something let loose and we backed away."

No one was hurt in the fire, KSDK reported. The team obtained a replacement bus, and the fire remains under investigation.
GVSU won its opening round game against Maryland 2-1 on Friday, lost its next game against Northeastern 2-1 on Saturday, won its Sunday game 6-0 against Arizona State, and will play in the semifinals against Illinois State on Monday.
