HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Police continue to search for a gunman on the loose after shooting his parents' home.
The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Friday near the corner of 132 Avenue and Pineoak Drive in Holland Township.
Investigators told 24 Hour News 8 the gunman got into a fight with his parents, then went outside the home they live in together and fired at it with a shotgun. His parents were not hit by the shots.
Officers from multiple police agencies were seen searching areas around the home Friday evening. They requested assistance from a helicopter with night vision gear, but it was not available. Officers chose not to search a wooded area near the home because of fears the man may be waiting for them in the dark.
Deputies advised people in the area to stay in their homes overnight, and to keep doors locked.
The gunman's parents were removed from their home by police and taken to another location for their safety.
