ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) - A man accused of pulling the mother of his child screaming out of her apartment and into his car has accepted a plea deal in connection to the incident.
Joshua Rodriguez pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence and malicious destruction of property.
In exchange for his plea, charges of first-degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment and aggravated domestic violence were dropped.
Neighbors told 24 Hour News 8 that Rodriguez, 20, pulled the woman -- who he has known since high school -- from her Zeeland apartment in the early morning hours of May 30.
They said she screamed "No, no, no," and "Why are you doing this to me?"
About two hours after the incident, the 22-year-old woman escaped Rodriguez. She later told police there have been prior domestic issues between her and Rodriguez.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 31.
