GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A jury ruled a youth who was 14 when he ran over a personal watercraft in Spring Lake, killing one and injuring two, was negligent in the crash.

Jack McKeough was 14 and operating a 27-foot MasterCraft when the crash occurred on Sept. 5, 2009.

On June 22, 2012, a federal court jury said McKeough was negligent in the crash.

Robby Jerovsek, 15, died in the crash. His passenger, Alexis Youngberg, lost her leg and another rider was also injured.

The jury found McKeough's father, Michael, was liable for Youngberg's injuries because he owned the MasterCraft, and that she should receive $4.6 million in damages.

The jury further determined Jerovsek was not negligent in the accident.
