JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman crashed her van into a ditch near a creek and frantically called 911 to say her children fell out of the vehicle and disappeared in the water.
But her husband arrived at the scene near Quincy Street and 12th Avenue in Jamestown Township with their children, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
Police said the head injury that Sarah Lichti, 38, from Hudsonville suffered in the crash led to her thinking her children were with her during the crash.
Rescue personnel and a dive team were dispatched to the scene around noon Sunday.
Lichti was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition.
