HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man who robbed a Shell gas station got away with money and cigarettes, authorities said.
It happened around 5:15 a.m. Thursday at the Shell gas station on the corner of River and Douglas avenues in Holland Township, according to Ottawa County Sheriff's Department Lt. Mark Bennett.
The suspect entered the station with a handgun, Bennett said. He demanded cash and took a pack of Camel Blue Light cigarettes.
The clerk was not injured.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male wearing a black knit hat over his face and black knit gloves. He was also wearing a black, heavy Dickies-brand button-up shirt and black baggy pants. His shoes were white with red patches and candy cane-colored shoelaces.
He had a tattoo on his right collarbone of a darkened triangle inside a larger triangle.
Authorities say they don't know if the suspect was related to the Kent County robberies that also happened Thursday morning. There are some differences, but Ottawa County investigators intend to talk to Kent County investigators anyway, Bennett said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Observer at 1.877.88.SILENT.
