HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - A Hudsonville man died after collapsing in his driveway while using a snowblower Feb. 7.
Jerry Smith, 44, was clearing the wet, heavy snow outside his residence on Eisenhower Drive.
He had a heart attack and paramedics tried to revive him but they were unsuccessful.
His wife told 24 Hour News 8 he did have a pre-existing heart condition.
"I think a lot of it had to do with being outside and trying to move this heavy snow," Nicole Smith said.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 if you are having any symptoms with your chest tightening, arm pain or dizziness while shoveling snow, you should call 911 immediately.
