HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 12-year-old boy with matches started a fire that burned about 2 acres of field in an Ottawa County community, authorities said.

The blaze sparked around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday near Waverly Shores Village, Riley Street and 120th Avenue, in Holland Township.

The fire burned out of control and endangered some nearby mobile homes, police said.

It took an hour to get the flames under control.
