Funeral services set for Holland Marine

Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Price killed in Afghanistan

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Funeral arrangements have been made for a Holland Marine killed in Afghanistan.

Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Price, 27, of Holland was killed July 29 in Badghis Province, Afghanistan.

Parents Ruth and Karl Price told 24 Hour News 8 their son was a devoted husband, Christian and Marine.

A decorated Marine, Price had been awarded a Bronze Star with V for valor, and a Purple Heart after he was shot in the kneecap in July 2011. He was also awarded three Combat Action Ribbons and three Good Conduct Medals.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg-Yntema Funeral Home in Holland, according to the funeral home.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at Central Wesleyan Church in Holland. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
    
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, according to the funeral home.
