GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - After months of demolition, the first drawings were released Tuesday night showing what a new green space in Georgetown Township may one day look like.

The Township has purchased several properties between Baldwin and Main streets since 2011. A church, former school and several houses on those properties were demolished.

The Township released several sketches on its Facebook page of the future space, which would include an Armed Forces memorial and a farmers market.

Township officials have said they hope to turn the property into a grand entrance to Georgetown Township.

It is unclear when plans will be approved.
