HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - A Spring Lake man has been found guilty of abusing his 6-week-old son.
Bentley Ryan McIntyre was hospitalized in August with symptoms indicating he had been shaken.
Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Edward Post found Bentley's father Justin McIntyre guilty of second-degree child abuse Tuesday.
McIntyre, 23, was originally charged with first-degree child abuse.
Bentley was in the hospital for weeks after sustaining serious brain injuries. He suffered several seizures, bleeding in the brain and a staph infection, a family friend told 24 Hour News 8 in September. By the time he was about 9 weeks old, he had recovered enough to go home.
McIntyre's sentencing is set for Jan. 28, 2013.
