HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - A 67-year-old woman kicked a man who was trying to rob her at knifepoint in the parking lot of a Meijer on 16th Street, scaring the man away.
Police said the robbery attempt happened around 8:45 a.m. Monday. The woman said she was getting out of her car when the robber, armed with a utility knife, told her to get back in her car. Instead, she kicked him. In the process, she was nicked by the knife but did not need medical attention.
Officers said another armed robbery attempt happened around this same time in the parking lot.
About two hours later, the man returned to the Meijer lot and police took a 45-year-old man into custody. Investigators said they also found the man's vehicle and evidence in the case.
