WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two men are in the hospital after they crashed an ATV early Sunday.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on 8th Avenue near Roosevelt Street, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said the ATV was headed south on 8th Avenue when it went off the road, hit an embankment and crashed into the west side ditch.

Driver Rob Scheidel, 24, of Comstock Park was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Passenger Christopher Host, 25, of Grand Rapids, is in serious condition.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts, authorities said.

Authorities said alcohol may be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
