POLKTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A semi-truck driver was injured after his rig was pushed on top of him after a minivan collided into it.
The wreck occurred about 8:30 p.m. Sunday on 80th Avenue near Cleveland Street, northwest of Coopersville.
David Carlson, 63, of Coopersville, was backing his semi-truck into a driveway when the rig got stuck in the snow.
He got out of the truck and walked around to the front of it to survey the situation. That is when, police say, a minivan hit the truck, which was partially sticking out in the road, pushing the truck forward and on top of Carlson.
Carlson suffered a head laceration and a broken arm. He was taken to a hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
The minivan's driver, 62-year-old Dan Vanderwoude of Lowell, and his 62-year-old wife Trenna were also taken to a hospital with minor injuries and later released.
