GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities are looking into a series of daytime home invasions where several thousand dollars have been stolen over the past three months.

Lt. Mark Bennett with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said some arrests have been made in the case, but because the incidents are continuing, they believe more people are involved.

The areas hit have been around 68th Avenue east to the Ottawa-Kent county line including Jamestown Township, Zeeland Township, Georgetown Township, Blendon Township, Wright Township and Tallmadge Township.

In most cases forced entry was used usually through a service door in a garage between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to police.

The items taken included small electronics, televisions, jewelry, and cash.

Police said sometimes the suspects will knock on the door and if someone answers they ask a basic question such as directions. If no one answers, they proceed to break-in.

No one has been injured in any of the robberies.
