HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - The woman at the center of a courthouse sexual assault case made a plea in Hudsonville District Court on Wednesday.
She pleaded guilty to impaired driving. 24 Hour News 8 has not named the woman because she was the victim of a sexual assault.
Her blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit when she was pulled over. She was sentenced to 90 days nonreporting probation, plus will have to pay fines and court costs.
Carl Gabrielse originally was assigned to prosecute her case, but during a meeting with the woman, forced her to have sex and then lowered the charge. He pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct in April and was given a delayed sentence.
He is serving six months in jail and then probation. If he follows the rules, the charges against him will be lowered, and he could avoid being put on the sex offender registry.
