Man unresponsive, van crashes into home

Driver was 79-year-old Allen Jay Klooster

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - One man is dead after experiencing a medical condition which caused him to crash his mini van into a house.

The crash happened in the 6200 block of Balsam drive just before 5:30 Saturday night. 

79-year-old Allen Jay Klooster of Georgetown Township had a sudden medical issue before hitting the house, according to Ottawa County deputies.

Klooster was pronounced dead on the scene after emergency crews tried to resuscitate him. He was unresponsive prior to the crash.

There were three other people in the van with Klooster. All were wearing seat belts.

No one else had any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriffs Department.
