LAKETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A standoff between Allegan County Sheriff's deputies and a man in Holland is over, police said.
According to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office, the armed man involved in the standoff was taken into custody. No one was harmed.
Officers were called to the area when residents reported a man with a gun and shots fired in Laketown Township at the corner of 32nd and 64th Streets.
Allegan County deputies, assisted by Michigan State Police and the Holland Police Department, found an armed subject wandering the neighborhood.
When police confronted the man, he barricaded himself in a wood pile with a handgun.
The man threatened to harm himself and anyone who approached him.
There were not any hostages involved.
Police were able to convince the man to disarm himself and surrender. No one was injured.
The man, whose name has not been released, was arrested on a weapons offense.
