JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities in Ottawa County are investigating the possibility that up to three men found dead from apparent overdoses over the past several months are connected to the owner of a Jamestown Township home.
Two of the men were discovered in what neighbors say seems to be the unlikeliest of areas: A house in the well-to-do neighborhood in the 4400 block of Stable Drive.
That is where investigators found Jordon Bauer dead Saturday night, just a few weeks after they found Cory Dykstra dead in the same residence.
Investigators say they believe both deaths are from heroin overdoses.
They also say the death of a third person may be connected. Friends told 24 Hour News 8 he died in November 2012 and was found in his car in Grandville.
Family members said the third man was friends with Bauer and Dykstra, and friends said he also spent time at the Stable Drive home.
Investigators arrested the homeowner Saturday on unrelated charges.
24 Hour News 8 has decided not to name the homeowner at this stage in the investigation. He has a criminal past that includes charges for operating while impaired, stalking, and serious assault. He is currently booked in the Ottawa County Jail on a probation violation.
Classmates said the three men who died and the homeowner -- all in their late 20s or early 30s -- went to high school together and were friends.
"All these kids grew up together," the homeowner's father told 24 Hour News 8 via phone Sunday evening. "They're like sons to us."
The father said he had not talked to his son since his arrest.
"If my son's involved, he's got to stand for it," the father said.
The father also noted his son is taking the losses hard. In particular, the father wanted to reach out to Jordan Bauer's family. Last summer, 24 Hour News 8 interviewed Bauer when his brother, Jakson Kreiser, disappeared in a Montana national park. Kreiser was later found dead, having drowned while on a hike.
"We're shedding tears like crazy for Jordon's mom," the homeowner's father said.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding all three men's deaths continues.
