GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - One of the jurors in the murder trial of Troy Brake spoke with 24 Hour News 8 regarding what happened behind the scenes.

He did not want to be identified or on camera, but he called the newsroom Thursday evening for an interview.

He said the deliberation was "very orderly ... We went over everything bit by bit."

At around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, the jury asked the judge the difference between first- and second-degree murder. The juror said one person questioned the difference and the other jurors wanted to be sure.

"It was merely a question that we really wanted to get defined," he said.

As for his reaction to the case, he said: "I think it's very just. It's a horrific crime and as jurors, we were very convinced of what we thought."
