Hudsonville votes to take stimulus

Mayor was the tie breaker

HUDSONVILLE, Mich (WOOD) - After a 6:45am meeting council members in Hudsonville voted and will take the national stimulus worth $112,000 to fix the pothole-riddled 36th Street between Van Buren and the city limits.

This was the second vote on the matter the first was in June and the stimulus was voted down. At this meeting however not all the members were present.  This Monday morning meeting had all the council members present and the Mayor, Donald Van Doeselaar,  was the tie breaking vote.

At the meeting, 24 Hour News 8 saw some council members speak out against the measure, stating that the road did not need to be fixed.
