WEST GLACIER, Mont. (WOOD) - The autopsy results are now known regarding a 19-year-old Hudsonville man who died last year while hiking in Glacier National Park in Montana.
Jakson Kreiser disappeared during a hike in July 2012. His body was found in September.
Flathead County (Mont.) Deputy Coroner Dick Sine told 24 Hour News 8 Kreiser likely died of drowning, with a secondary cause of hypothermia.
Investigators believe Kreiser slipped while trying to cross a water drainage.
Sine said the water was up to 3 feet deep and about 36 degrees at the time. Sine said the cold water would have been rushing very fast, incapacitating Kreiser quickly.
Authorities previously believed Kreiser fell and died of a traumatic injury.
