GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A group of Georgetown Township residents have filed a lawsuit over homes that flooded last fall.

In September, dozens of basements in homes near Rushmore Lake flooded with sewage. Homeowners say the sewage system was not maintained properly, causing the mess.

They are suing Ottawa County, Georgetown Township and Grandville, saying they are liable for thousands of dollars in damages.

Georgetown Township is working on a $5 million sewer improvement project.
