HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will be in Holland on Dec. 10 for a screening of "Milk," followed by a question-and-answer session.
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Park Theatre, 248 S. River Ave.
Black, who is openly gay, would have spoken at a student-proposed forum on sexuality in October while he was directing "What's Wrong With Virginia?" but Hope College administrators said no.
Black was more than welcome to speak in a classroom lecture setting, where more dialogue and learning could take place, Hope College representatives said. But a large-scale forum is a different story.
"What's Wrong With Virginia," starring Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris, is in post-production in another state.
"Milk" is the biopic of slain gay politician Harvey Milk.
