GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A Georgetown Township couple was startled late Tuesday when an SUV crashed into their bedroom, and the alleged drunk driver is a part-time police officer.
Just before 11 p.m., the couple was lying in bed when the SUV crashed into the corner of their house and into their bedroom.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 the driver, Jacqueline Cota, was westbound on Barry Street but ran a stop sign and ran into the home.
Cota was charged with drunk driving in Ottawa County on Thursday and will next appear in court July 13. She is a part-time officer with the departments in North Muskegon and Roosevelt Park, and each department is reviewing this case.
Cota could not be reached for comment.
