LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) - A dairy producer is expected to create 70 jobs when it opens in
the former Delphi facility in Coopersville after
state tax credits were approved Tuesday
morning.
Continental Dairy Products, Inc.'s general manager told 24
Hour News 8 the company plans to begin working to rehab the
facility soon. It would likely be open by November 2010, he said.
The firm would have roughly 60 employees on board when the
plant opens and add the other 10 over time. The breakdown of the
jobs that will be available is nine professional/management, nine
technical/clerical, 10 skilled craftsmen, 32
operators/laborers/service and 10 Phase II.
The city of Coopersville is expected to pass a tax abatement
for the project to go forward. The city would also seek grants to
upgrade road and water infrastrucutre for the plant, Ottawa County
economic development officials told 24 Hour News 8.
