7 named in 2 Holland drug indictments

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Seven people arrested in two Holland methamphetamine busts now face federal charges.

In the first bust, three people were named in a 10-count federal indictment, which included charges of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of meth.

Among those is Khamnmany "Thong" Phoungphet, who allegedly sold meth out of a residence in the 2500 block of West Pine Lane. The indictment says he "knowingly used and maintained the house for the distribution of methamphetmaine."

That is the same residence where Thong Phoungphet's brother Davanh Phoungphet allegedly set his landlady on fire in January, killing her. Davanh Phoungphet's case was bound over to circuit court in February, but is on hold as the court determines if he is competent to stand trial.

Thong Phouangphet also faces three counts of meth distribution, a count of possession of five grams or more of meth with intent to distribute and a count of being a felon and illegal alien in possession of a firearm.

Also named in that first indictment is Sengathith "Seng" Sybounma and Thavone "Lek" Khamsouksay.

In a separate bust, Saengchaenh "Yaa" Sengmany, Amber Mae Dordon, Amanda Jane Dordon and Phetmany "Pit" Choummanivong were named in a seven-count indictment for either the possession or distirbution of meth.

The four allegedly used an unnamed mobile home park to distribute meth they received through the mail, court document show.

Other court records show federal officials intercepted a package of suspected methamphetamine in November 2011, destined for an address in the Leisure Estates mobile home park. The package was addressed to a fictitious name.

Friday, Dordon pleaded not guilty in a Grand Rapids federal courtroom to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. She was released on $25,000 unsecured appearance bond.
