BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 19-year-old woman and her 4-week-old daughter died after a two-vehicle crash in Blendon Township. Her other daughter, age 1, is in critical condition.

Morgan DeHaan was driving north on 64th Avenue and ran a stop sign at Barry Street at around 4:55 p.m. Thursday. Her vehicle was struck by an eastbound pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Gregory Henson, of Hudsonville.

Both vehicles went off the road. DeHaan's SUV rolled several times and her younger daughter, Hannah, was ejected from her car seat, which was severely damaged. It released her. Her other child, Jordyn, remained in her car seat and in the vehicle.

DeHaan died at the scene. The kids were taken by AeroMed to a hospital where Hannah died Friday morning.

Her husband, Tim DeHaan, was out of state at Marine Boot Camp. He's been brought  back to be with his surviving child. They married last year.

The Ottawa County Sheriff Department told 24 Hour News 8 there was nothing wrong with the child restraint seat Hannah was in. It was simply crushed by the impact.

Henson, who was not injured, did not have any passengers.

"Now we know what it feels like to feel numb," said family friend Colleen Macy. "You hear people say that occasionally and maybe until something like this happens you don't know what that feels like."

Macy added, "She was phenomenal and it's time like this when we question - why does something like this have to happen to such a wonderful, warm, kind person? None of us are able to really make any sense of it."
