Power restored after Lakeview explosion

LAKEVIEW, Mich. (WOOD) - The 1,890 Consumers Energy customers who lost power in the Lakeview, Six Lakes and Howard City areas were all set by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters and Consumers workers investigated an electrical substation explosion Monday evening near Lakeview High School that left hundreds without power and closed Lakeview High School.

No one was injured and no property was damaged in relation to the explosion.

A fuse blew at 9805 N. Youngman Road just after 6 p.m. Traffic lights and nearby businesses were affected. Utility officials will continue to investigate the cause of the explosion.
