LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State Police say thieves made off with some pieces of railroad track in the western Lower Peninsula.
WWTV-WWUP reports Wednesday that the theft of track near Ludington was larger than the average scrap metal theft.
Police say the theft is believed to have taken place over a series of months from a spur of rail line that went onto private property that includes an unused factory building.
Prosecutors in Mason County also are involved in the case.
