LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard told 24 Hour News 8 crews have found the bodies of two boaters who disappeared while boating in Lake Michigan.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Shaun Cross in Ludington says a search began Thursday night after two people who went fishing in a 26-foot boat didn't return as expected, according to the Associated Press.

A debris field was located about 3 miles north of Big Sable Point near Ludington.

The victims' boat capsized and sunk during heavy weather, according to the Mason County Sheriff's Department.

William Sorokin, 67, from Plains, Pa. was pulled from the water Thursday evening, police said.

Ray Finholm, 59, from Ludington was found on the beach nearby at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Two Traverse City-based Coast Guard helicopters were involved in the search along with Coast Guard boats from Ludington and Manistee. Crews from the Mason and Manistee county sheriff's department were also part of the effort. They also searched beaches along Mason County's Grant Township.
