GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Tim Dawson has lost a round in his attempt to appeal his murder conviction.
The former Sparta resident was convicted in 2008 for the 2004 murder of his wife, Julia.
Dawson had appealed the conviction on several fronts, including that the prosecution's introduction of past abuse against Julia, and the reliability of a psychological test, were not admissible.
A Michigan Court of Appeals panel ruled against those arguments.
A jury of five men and seven women found Tim Dawson guilty of the premeditated strangulation murder of his wife, then dumping her body along a southern Montcalm County road. He was sentenced to life in prison.
