NORMAN, Mich. (WOOD) - A Walker man died Saturday after rolling an off-road vehicle in northern Michigan.

Russell Stroh, 43, was thrown from his four-wheeler near the intersection of Hart and Steinberg roads in Norman in the Manistee National Forest in Manistee County, police said.

Michigan State Police troopers from Cadillac were called to the scene around 5:45 p.m.

They said Stroh had lost control of his four-wheeler, which then struck an embankment. Stroh was thrown from the vehicle and struck a tree.

Police say Stroh was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was involved in the crash.
