HOWARD CITY, Mich. (WOOD) - A Lake Odessa man was arrested Thursday in connection with the armed robbery that took place at First Bank, in Howard City on Wednesday.
The 48-year-old man was taken into custody around 2:30 p.m. He was found at a rural home outside of Fremont, police said in a news release.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, is being held at the Montcalm County Sheriff's Department, pending arraignment.
Police took the vehicle he left the scene in, along with other evidence.
The suspect entered the bank, in the 800 block of West Shaw Street, around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday and passed over a note demanding money. He said he had a firearm, although no one actually saw one, according to a news release from the Howard City Police Department.
He left with some cash in what witnesses describe as a dark green, older-type mini van. He was headed west on M-82, they added.
No one was hurt.
